So excited to use this new blog (my very first attempt at a blog, actually) to keep everyone updated about the happenings in our new family!
Charles John Berglund was born at 1:28pm on Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood. It was hands down the most amazing experience of mine and Aaron's lives so far, and I think a pretty special moment for Grandma Linda to have shared in as well. I had a pretty easy pregnancy, all things considered, no morning sickness or major negative symptoms to really speak of. Yet that last month or so was really starting to wear on me because I was just so anxious to meet him! And labor wasn't so bad either, mostly to the credit of the talented anesthesiologist who put me in a pretty comfortable state with that amazing miracle they call an epidural! Charlie was born healthy and happy, even took to nursing about 40 minutes after delivery. We feel honored to pass on to him the names of both of his grandfathers, something I know he will feel equally proud of one day when he can appreciate it! Our hospital stay was a nice experience with so many of the staff there familiar with my mom I felt like I got VIP treatment! But all the real fun started once we got home . . .
Yes, the past two weeks would not have been complete without some rather inadequate nights of sleep, constant feedings, and many dirty diapers! But the funny thing is that we couldn't be happier!! It's a life altering experience that we never knew we always wanted! I just can't believe how much love I can have for something so small!!
Life has been full of adjustments lately and of course we really couldn't have done it without the help of our parents and siblings, especially Grandma Linda who has been over almost every day helping out with whatever she can. Our most important project today was posing baby Charlie in a festive way to wish you all a very Happy Halloween! Have a safe night if you plan to venture out at all this weekend!!
Love the picture and I am so glad that you started a blog. I will enjoy keeping up with your family! I can't wait to meet Charlie.
